As many of you may have noticed, and a few of you have commented, ‘tis the season to be growing a beard. I’ve been extending my facial fuzz beyond the typical limits in preparation for winter; not only to keep my face warm, but because I am really starting to like the look of it too. While I have always had facial hair in some capacity (usually stubble rather than actual hair), growing a beard presents new challenges. It becomes even more important to master the art of washing and conditioning your beard. Especially in winter months in order for the hair to look and feel good. Fairly new to my bathroom cabinet is ManCaveInc.’s Natural Grooming Gear that’s become my go-to when it comes to perfecting my beard care routine. All of these products are vegan and cruelty-free, so you can stock up on them knowing you’re doing that little bit of good for the planet.
First up is the ManCave Blackspice Beard Wash, a great way to scrub away at the impurities both in your beard and under the skin. It’s the perfect preparation for any beard routine, and the Tea Tree Oils work well to help clean, while keeping moisture locked into the beard hair. The Blackspice has a punchy scent to it that certainly leaves you feeling invigorated, and the Jojoba and Hemp Oils give the hair a real softness.
Step two of my beard care routine is all about control. Having a longer beard, there is always a tendency for hair to grow out in all sorts of awkward directions. The Blackspice Beard Control adds in plenty of Shea Butter, as well as Hemp Oil, to help smooth and style the beard. The key here, though, is that there is also a generous portion of Blackspice to keep the signature scent consistent throughout the steps. The naturally smooth finish doesn’t look overly styled, which is great if you prefer a less glossy finish.
Finally, to complete the trio of products, ManCave has their signature Blackspice Beard Oil. Adding in Black Pepper and Bergamot Oils, as well as a good dose of Vitamin E, to help protect and nourish the skin. I find it is great to use in my standard routine, but also after any trims or shaves as the oils work well to soothe any irritated skin. The Blackspice finish means it is one of the best smelling beard oils out there too.
