When you formally agree to spend the rest of your life with a loved one, there is a union of lives, of experiences, and of moments. Each day presents new and exciting possibilities, but there are some dates in the calendar that are purely celebratory occasions; moments that both myself and Katie can enjoy. In this instance, today was the day that she turned 26. It just so happens to be that time of year where we also celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary too, so there are plenty of moments to cherish.
Getting Katie a gift is always a daunting task. Aside from my pre-ordained inability to choose a gift for anyone, there is always added pressure when it comes to a gift for my wife. Sure, I know what she wants on a day-to-day basis, but a gift that lasts a lifetime and creates a moment is much more sentimental and, perhaps most importantly, tallies up those brownie points. As a fan of all things sparkly, jewellery is always a great option.
The Splendour collection from Links of London is centred around sharing such moments. Inspired by the grandeur of British gothic architecture and the intricate star patterns found in cathedrals, the Splendour collection encapsulates the subtle quirkiness of the British brand. This 18kt Yellow Gold Vermeil & Diamond Four-Point Star Bracelet features a beautiful diamond star design inspired by Westminster Abbey; very apt considering we have spent most of our relationship in this borough of London. The 18kt yellow gold isn’t typically Katie’s colour, but it is delicate enough to look great against any shade of skin. Throw in an abundance of diamonds and it was an absolute winner when she opened the beautifully presented box. They are a girl’s best friend after all.
