Knock knock. This shoot involved me hanging around a very impressive doorstep, on a very impressive chessboard floor, in order to get the look right. Location is 90% of the battle, after all. I’m not going to disclose the full coordinates due to a fear of this surprisingly quiet spot becoming a lot less secluded, but let’s just say it sits underneath a rather impressive dome…
Onto the outfit, and the arrival of Spring means I can ditch the socks and bring out the camel. Double-breasted blazers are traditionally reserved for the colder months, but this offering from ASOS Menswear is light enough to throw on as we move into spring. The wool mix is fairly stretchy so, even though this is a slim fit, it won’t make you feel too hot and bothered if the sun does decide to pop out. Underneath, I keep things typically spring with a plain black tee. A shirt and tie would have been to formal for this look.
On my bottom half, I show a little bit of ankle with these Cropped Black Trousers from Topman along with a pair of Monk Shoes from Kurt Geiger. A little tip (and I learned this the hard way): ASOS do a pack of pop socks that sit perfectly in any open-top shoe. Trainer socks can sometimes show at the top and sides, but these sit perfectly hidden for that ultimate sockless look. This being the UK, I couldn’t entirely embrace the spring weather, and so this beautiful short camel scarf from REISS keeps my neck warm and completes the colour coordination in the top half of the outfit. Check mate.
I’ll be investing more into my Spring wardrobe over the next couple of weeks as I head off to a sunnier an warmer Europe. If you’re keen on what I’m wearing here, as ever, you can shop the look below:
