One of the most important days of the year is quickly approaching; on Sunday 26th March it is Mother’s Day. Even if you have a spouse or siblings, there is nothing more important, to me at least, than paying homage to your creator. However, it can get a little tricky at times to pick something out that your Mum will truly love. My safe choice? Choosing a gift that is guaranteed to make her happy, give her options, and make her home smell like a well-scented castle. As a huge fan of The White Company, it was only natural that I turned to them for help.

They all smell good, offer variety and have a one-size-fits-all policy (wouldn’t want to offend Mum now would we?).
Let’s start with The White Company’s absolute staple: scented candles. The Four Season Votive Candle Collection is an excellent introduction to four very different scents. Rose, jasmine and lilac serve up a healthy dose of Spring, while eucalyptus and vetivert move things into Summer. The fragrances are very similar but these diffusers have a slightly longer shelf life and are a constant source of nasal goodness. I particularly love the presentation; the light wood scent sticks balanced carefully alongside an immaculately finished diffuser bottle. Forget plugging anything in to a wall; these deserve to be on show.
If you are after something a little more specific for Spring, then my third highlight should be the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. The three botanical candles (Seychelles, Lime & Bay and Flowers) each contain actual materials such as bay leaves and slices of lime that provide the most authentic scent you will ever smell.
