Shearling Stories with Zara Man

I’ll keep this post fairly short and sweet as this statement coat from Zara does most of the talking. This Faux Shearling Double-faced coat is going to be the perfect outer layer and finishing touch for when the mercury finally drops in January; the unbelievably thick inner lining makes you feel like you’re huddled in the centre of a flock of sheep and the heavy fabric falls beyond the knee, so it is almost a complete solution from head-to-toe. The rich brown colour sits well against blues and blacks, but contrasting it with these White Stretch Skinny Jeans from Topman was the only option to make this coat really stand out. Zara coats are quickly becoming my “thing” this winter and I seem to make an impulse purchase every time I hit one of their stores. Oxford Street is literally a minefield.

Underneath, I wear this Camel Roll Neck Jumper from New Look. Incredibly affordable, it is easy to chuck on without ironing and looks a lot smarter than anything with a crew or a v-neck. Trust me, when it gets properly cold, a roll neck is the only way to go. On my feet are these River Island Mens Tan suede zipped Chelsea boots. Clean cut and smart, they complement the coat well and are surprisingly weatherproof. On my wrist, a new favourite in this Rotary Tradition Men’s Gold Plated GMT Swiss Watch. It is classic and fairly weighty; bearing all the hallmarks of a well-made, affordable Swiss Watch. It literally hasn’t left my wrist and it’s going to be difficult to find a suitable replacement at this price. Protecting my eyes, these Persol Suprema Round Sunglasses are big enough to actually fit my face and the tortoise-shell finish completes that whole 70s vibe.

Now, excuse me while I patiently wait for winter to actually arrive. Shop the look below:
