For a long time, and for me at least, The White Company has been associated with its enviable selection of homeware and occasional foray into womenswear and childrenswear. So, when I was presented with their new menswear collection, it was definitely a pleasant surprise. Even more appealing was the introduction of this cashmere nightwear collection; perfect as the mercury starts to drop and those colder nights require fashion to be that bit more cosy.
The Navy Cotton Cashmere Hoodie is the perfect upper layer for lazing around the house or even going to and from the gym. The soft cotton-cashmere mix is unbelievably comfortable, and the contrast lining in the hood matches the joggers perfectly. Keeping the look classic, there is a traditional kangaroo pocket which, while not bing particularly useful at storing things, makes for a great place to warm your hands should the proverbial fire go out.
On my bottom half, I complete this cashmere set with a contrasting pair of Mid Grey Marl Cashmere Joggers. They are also available in Navy, but I’m not sure the single-colour shell suit look particularly suits me. Despite being ridiculously cosy the fabric is well-fitted, and the snug, cuffed trouser legs and curved pockets make for a very clean fit. I’m not sure you could ever call a pair of joggers “tailored”, but these come very close.
While I’d expect nothing less that this kind of detail from The White Company, it is great to see them properly explore menswear with their signature style. The collection does extend beyond nightwear and I’m sure I will be exploring more of it in the months to come. If you are looking for some new nightwear or loungewear to see you through winter, though, I would definitely recommend giving these two items a try.
