As an early bird, I’m the type of person who really struggles after a bad night’s sleep. If I don’t get my full eight hours then I wake up early in the morning slow, sluggish and confused. Living in a Central London rental property, I have to admit that I’d put up with a below-par ancient mattress for the best part of two years; sleeping with springs digging into my back had become the norm and I was reluctant to go through the logistical hassle of replacing the mattress, especially as we are on the top floor with a very narrow staircase. That is, until I found out about Leesa Sleep.

The promise of a hassle free delivery and sleeping on a new luxury mattress within seven days of ordering sounded too good to be true, but I decided that it was time to finally to vastly upgrade my shut eye. Ordering was easy; simply select a size and enter payment details and an address. As our flat is quite cosy I went for a UK double; the temptation of the King negated by the lack of square footage in our humble abode. A few days later, and well ahead of schedule, a fairly small box arrived at my door marked with the Leesa Sleep logo.

I’ll be honest here and say that my excitement quickly turned to panic. Although I checked the label several times, it was almost unbelievable that a full double mattress could be squeezed into such a small box. Convinced that they had incorrectly sent me a single, I ripped open the cardboard and lay the vacuum-packed package on the bare bed frame. While it did stretch to each side of the bed, the pancake-like structure didn’t immediately fill me with confidence.

Thankfully, that panic then soon turned to awe. Cutting open the plastic, the memory foam structure proceeded to grow in stature and size over the next hour. What was a slither of foam was now a fully plumped up double mattress, a good foot or two thick and very inviting to look at. As it was a Sunday, the mattress was then covered with newly-washed crisp white sheets and a duvet; one of life’s small pleasures that we all secretly love.

Now, I could tell you how the Leesa Sleep mattress has vastly improved my posture when I sleep. I could talk for hours about how a memory foam pancake delivered in a small box has transformed my quality of deep sleep. However, the real testament to the quality of this mattress is my current relationship with my bedside alarm. Once eager to get up and start my day, I have now become one of those people desperate to get just ten more minutes in bed every morning. Cocooned in a thick duvet and floating on a bed of air, it has become a real struggle to tear myself away from my bed in the morning.

A new mattress wasn’t exactly top of my Christmas list this year, but having slept on a Leesa Sleep for the past month or so, I have honestly changed my entire attitude to bedtime. I wind down with some chamomile tea and a good magazine, preparing myself for eight hours of bliss that lay ahead (no pun intended). If you’re a friend or family member, you will have heard me rave on about this mattress for weeks on end, but if this is your first introduction to Leesa Sleep then I highly recommend checking out their website for all of their mattress options; it is the easiest way to vastly upgrade your comfort in life.

What’s more, if you use the code TWENTYFIRSTCENTURYGENT50 or follow this link here, you’ll even save yourself some extra money on a new mattress. Best of all, if you’re not 100% sure about investing in a Leesa Sleep mattress, you can literally sleep on it. 100 nights, or just over three months, to be exact. Leesa Sleep will then come and pick up the mattress, free of charge, if you’re not convinced it has improved your quality of sleep. I can almost guarantee that won’t happen, so please do make sure that you set more than one alarm in the morning for those early starts. I do.
