I’m heading off to South Africa soon on my honeymoon and, in the spirit of exploring the grassland plains and the savannahs, I put together a safari-inspired outfit in collaboration with River Island Man. Although you won’t see the Big Five wandering through this photoshoot, Richmond Park’s resident deer did a good effort in providing the wildlife and backdrop.
To me, safari and khaki go hand-in-hand and this Khaki Crew Neck T-Shirt is great for the explorer look. The slim fit is certainly flattering and the soft cotton material makes it perfect for looking stylish on the go. It’s not a colour I wear regularly but I think I’ll be introducing it more into upcoming outfits so stay tuned. Green was tipped to to be the colour of 2016 after all.
On my legs, these Pantalon 5 Trousers from Celopman may not be the ideal camouflage for stalking wildlife but the strong contrast is a bold look and break up the subtler tones of the tee and boots. I bought these in Spain and I haven’t been able to find a pair in the UK that have the same tapered leg and elasticated material. They are already being reordered before I wave goodbye to Spring/Summer 16.
Speaking of boots, these Tan Suede Zipped Chelsea Boots from River Island Man have become a summer staple and a great alternative to my usual choice of leather shoes. The suede finish looks great against a pair of coloured trousers or jeans and the tan looked great in Sunday sunlight on this photoshoot. It’ll be a sad day when I have to put them back on the shoe rack when I brave the autumnal rain.
With September on the horizon and autumn fast approaching, I strongly recommend you check out the River Island Man collection here if you’re looking to extend your summer wardrobe. Just don’t expect the weather to play ball too.
