Chevron Swim Shorts – Next Menswear // “Larry” Black Sunglasses – Bailey Nelson
White Shirt – Burton // Pink Chino Shorts – Next Menswear
Classic Bristol Watch – Daniel Wellington // Tan Tassel Loafers – Burton
Sun’s out, guns out. Well, sort of. Post-wedding and now in my late Twenties, I took a long look in the mirror and realised the true cost of a week-long celebration with zero exercise (even stress doesn’t burn enough calories). Heading off to Spanish coast the next day, I was dangerously entering the fabled “Dad Bod” territory. With no amount of HIIT providing me with instant salvation, I knew my beach wardrobe needed to be strong.
This pair of Chevron Swim Shorts from Next Menswear certainly detract from any body issues. I love the bold print and colourful, yet simple, design. I’ll often go for swim shorts in lurid shades of pink or ones that contain a smorgasbord of fruit or foliage, but I like the clean, classic look that these afford. For this outfit, I paired them with a decent tan and a lovely new gold wedding band. On my face, a pair of “Larry” Black Sunglasses from Bailey Nelson provided a stylish way to protect my eyes from the fury of the midday sun.
On to the evening look. A crisp white shirt always brings out the golden hues after a day in the sun, and I paired this one with these Pink Chino Shorts, also from Next Menswear. On my wrist, my trusted Daniel Wellington Classic Bristol Watch; more of an accessory than a timepiece given the tempo of life on the Costa Del Sol. On my feet, this pair of Tan Tassel Loafers from Burton complete the look and compliment the colour of the watch strap well.
With promises of paella and jugs of sangria, I was (somewhat) suited, booted and felt fit for an al fresco dinner with friends. Part Two of the lookbook coming soon…
