I’m usually one to incorporate copious amounts of colour into my outfits, especially in the dull, grey winter months, but for this outfit shoot I decided on something a little more muted and monochrome. Collaborating once again with River Island, the colour pallette was to be black, white and grey; reflective of the weather more than my mood on a sleepy Sunday morning.
This asymmetrical Black Shearling Coat does away with traditional styling in favour of a silhouetted design brought to life by sharp edges and contrasting silver zips. The shearling lining is ideal for a frosty morning while being thin enough to wear in the approaching spring months. If black is your colour, of course.
Paired with the coat, this pair of Grey Stretch Skinny Jeans provide a comfortable yet functional option for my legs. As I don’t have quads of steel, I’ll almost always choose a pair of slim fit jeans in order to keep some shape on my lower half. Finishing off the outfit, this pair of Black Leather Smart Worker Boots are functional yet stylish. The laces are optional, with a neat side-zip allowing you to slip these off your feet without ever tying a knot again.
It is very rare that I will wear an outfit consisting entirely of colours that are completely unsaturated, but strong styling and the correct fit keep this outfit on point. These colours were made for the colder months, so now is time to expand the monochrome in your wardrobe. Be sure to check out the River Island Man Instagram to see more of the collection.

You can't go wrong with an asymmetric zipper. Such a good detail. :]
