The Gentleman In Boracay

After our brief encounter with Hong Kong, we headed across the Pacific Ocean to bluer pastures. Checking-in late to the incredible Mandala Spa Resort at Station 1, the sights, sounds and smells of this tropical island would have to wait until the morning.

As we headed down to White Beach, slightly bleary-eyed but full of excitement, we took in our surroundings. The beach may be the main attraction, but the side streets offer a glimpse into a slightly more authentic Filipino lifestyle, complete with local food and local wildlife. As we passed each group of locals congregating outside the makeshift shops, we were greeted with warm smiles and even more welcoming bottles of iced water. As the faint sounds of the humming tricycle engines disappeared behind us, it wasn’t long before we felt an unmistakable gentle breeze.

Transparent waters teeming with life lapped the white sandy beach and stretched as far as the eye could see. The sun baked the earth for hours on end and, when it descended onto the horizon, nature provided a spectacle like no other. With the moon in the sky, the beach would come alive with barbecues, laughter and cocktails. White Beach, Boracay, is quite simply paradise on earth.
