Mandala Spa & Resort Villas

With White Beach taking our breath away, we were both more than happy to find accommodation in which we could recuperate after a hard day of tanning. We were extremely lucky to be staying at the award-winning Mandala Spa & Resort Villas, located near Station 1, which was the perfect place to relax while basking in the Filipino sunshine. A large, leafy garden housed the wooden villas that combine local architecture with modern amenities. Spacious, clean and very comfortable, they each come with their own outdoor shower, helping you feel that little bit closer to nature. Inside, a four-poster bed is a great finishing touch and you really feel like you’ve found a slice of luxury amongst the chaos that greets you in Boracay Town.

Each morning breakfast was served al fresco, with the fresh mango juice a regular choice for the both of us. I opted for the onion-based omelette while The Lady went for fried banana with pancakes; a little more opulent, but most definitely a great choice.

Arguably, however, the main attraction of this resort is the award-winning spa. It blends seamlessly into the surrounding jungle, yet feels extremely tranquil. The staff, as with all on the resort, are incredibly friendly and helpful and you do genuinely feel like this is a home away from home; a very optimistic thought, of course. On our first evening in Boracay, we decided on a couples massage which, if you manage to stay awake, is probably going to be the most relaxing two hours of your life.

If you ever find yourself in Boracay, and want to relax in style, then the Mandala Spa & Resort Villas comes highly recommended. Just make sure you prepare yourself for the difficulty of leaving.
