Monday gave me my earliest Christmas yet, as a visit to the Waitrose Cookery School in North London provided some autumnal festivities. Posed with the question “what makes Christmas?”, I answered with good food and great company; both of which I got in large quantities.
A Noël-inspired margarita cocktail class kicked off proceedings, followed by a lesson in constructing Michelin-starred canapés. At one point I did find myself giving an impromptu lesson to the Mr. ‘Sexiest Silver Fox 2012’ himself, Phillip Scofield. With all of the laughter making us very hungry, we sat down for one of the most incredible Christmas dinners I have ever consumed. It’s not very often that vegetables stand up to meat on my plate but, for once, the turkey wasn’t actually the star of the show.
Decadent chocolate and frangelico cupcakes followed and the evening was rounded off with cheese and mince pies. It was an excellent way to ease myself through Monday evening and I highly recommend a trip to the Waitrose Cookery School…just watch the waistline.

Hi Ben, this is awesome. As a food blogger myself, I would have loved to have taken part in something like this 🙂 silver fox looks relaxed around you. Haha! E x
