Hopefully you’ve been keeping up with my blog posts on my recent trip to Scotland, but if not you can check them out here. The trip across the border involved a good few hundred miles on the open road, so only the right car would get us from A to B in comfort and style. Step up, the Infiniti Q70.
I have previously reviewed the smaller, European-style Q50 on the blog, but the Q70 is very much the bigger ‘Americanised’ grand tourer in the Infiniti fleet. However, whilst the car has lost its slimmer figure, it sacrifices nothing when it comes to detail. The exterior of the car is classic Infiniti; sharp lines and a fairly mean-looking front grill look great standing still or driving at speed. Inside, it is a machine filled with extremely useful tech alongside well-polished upholstery and trim. You can choose to have as much assistance as you like, but in automatic sport mode the car was a real pleasure to drive, with comfort and speed working in perfect harmony.
I thoroughly enjoyed my few days driving the Infiniti Q70 and felt that the car was a big part of the journey. It’s rare to feel confident when driving a large sedan on very narrow loch-side roads but the car handled everything that the highlands could throw at it and more. I can honestly say that the Japanese and the Americans have produced something truly wonderful in their combined automotive efforts. McSushi anyone?
