I’m usually a gentleman of colour, opting for bright shades at any opportunity in attempt to splash my own illustrious palette across the increasingly bleak canvas of the winter months. You only need to look at my previous outfit post to witness that. For this outfit shoot, however, I decided to choose wardrobe items that speak loudly in more monochromatic shades.
Diverting from my usual narrative of biggest item first, we start with this Grey Stripe Lightweight Scarf from River Island. The soft texture and lightweight feel make it the perfect neck warmer in autumn. Not too hot, not too itchy, but a perfect extra layer when the mercury drops. I combined the scarf with this Pearl Grey Structured Sweater from Zara. The unique texture and close fit ensure you don’t loose your shape when wrapping up warm.
Scarf – River Island // Jumper – Zara // Trousers – H&M // Shoes – River Island
On the legs are my staple Twill White Trousers from H&M, but it’s my feet that once again try and steal the show. Shoes are slowly becoming an obsession, but these Grey Chelsea Boots from River Island justify my choice of vice. The suede finish and sleek design result in a delicate boot that looks very luxurious. Of course, as my first grey addition, they also add another colour to the shoe palette.
Greys, whites and blues prove that you don’t have to be loud to be seen. What is your favourite colour from the three?
