After our night in Straithfillan, it was time for something a little more permanent to rest our heads in. Heading back to Glasgow, we quickly swapped our Infiniti Q50 for it’s bigger Americana-inspired cousin, the Q70. Cruising towards the famous Gleneagles golf course, our final destination of the trip was to be the little village of Muthill, and a not-so-little house we had found via Air BnB.
As we drove up a rather large driveway, we were in awe of the size of the house. Very much palatial when compared to our postage stamp flat back in NW3, it was a fantastic venue in which to end our trip. Converted from the Jacobean era into a modern homestead, it was a joy to explore. We had an exquisite gold bathroom, a perfectly-sized family kitchen, too many bedrooms to count and…the ultimate man-cave.
Outside, we were treated to not one, not two, but three gardens. Outdoor space is so important when you are a large group and it was the perfect place to rest ahead of the white tie ball we attended at Stirling Castle. It also provided the perfect spot for much-needed dance rehearsals.
