The Fur Edition

Fur is often reserved for the fairer sex, but with the mercury almost freezing inside the thermometer this month, I thought it was only right that I should include some (faux) fur in my wardrobe. Not only is it a great substitute for an extra layer, it is almost guaranteed to add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

In an effort not to go too overboard with the fur theme, I decided to keep it simple and opted for the Faux Fur Collar Smart Jacket from The subtle changes in texture and the various black tones make this piece a little more special than  your average jacket. The fit is more akin to a tailored Saville Row suit than an overcoat, perfect for looking sharp.

Details are important too, and the choice of chunky wooden buttons again adds a different texture to the jacket. Being robust they also won’t fall off, meaning less time spent in the repair shop.

I paired my statement piece with my trusty plum jeans to add a splash of colour. Some of you may have seen these before in a previous post. Not many of us have the financial or physical capacity to own and store three hundred and sixty-five completely different outfits, so incorporate an item into a different colour scheme or wear on a different occasion as to not incur the wrath of the die-hard fashionistas.

I’ve said it before but shoes maketh the man. Ted Baker have a cracking array of footwear for the more discerning gent but my personal favourites are these silk Treep Slippers. Comfortable and with a high quality finish, they would look equally at home paired with a tuxedo.
