Let’s face it: if looking stylish was always effortless, then we would all walk around with an air of confidence and the world would be our catwalk. For me, dressing with a touch of understated flair makes me feel and act more confident and, when the world is viewed through a smile, it is a much better place. While clothing will always form a good basis for my daily look, I have always been a fan of details and accessories to really add the finishing touches to an outfit, and watches are a great way to dress up my wrist.

Leading the way in the British watch-making industry for more than 70 years, Accurist has always looked to add modern twists to long upheld traditions in a classic and understated style. Rather than be overbearing, their subtle timepieces add a touch of refinement and class; my favourite at the moment being this Classic Gold 7160 Watch complete with clasp bracelet and clean white dial face. I will often wear chunkier timepiece’s, but I really feel that Accurist get their designs just right; the sleek design has a luxurious edge and the vivid gold colour does just enough to stand out against an outfit of grey and white.

In terms of structure and quality, the watch has enough weight to be conspicuous on the wrist which is no bad characteristic. In a saturated market, a new timepiece shouldn’t just be about looks and I’ll often judge a watch on the way it feels on my wrist. The 7160 from Accurist ticks all of those boxes and more, with the wider watch collection having enough flair in the choices of colours, cut and material to offer a timepiece to compliment every style. Flair that is understated, of course.

As part of their #UnderstatedFlair campaign, Accurist is encouraging you all to share what this means to you with your own images on Instagram. You don’t have to have an Accurist watch to take part, but if you do, dress it up in a way that means something to you, and use the hashtag along with tagging the brand ‘@accuristwatches’. Accurist will then pick out their favourites and will be giving away selected watches to the best images. Good luck, time is ticking…
